Focus and Scope

The Journal of Ulumul Qur'an and Tafsir Studies (JUQUTS) welcomes scholarly submissions that contribute to the academic study of the Qur’an, including both textual and contextual analyses. The journal aims to promote critical and interdisciplinary discussions surrounding Qur’anic sciences and exegetical methodologies.

Areas of interest include, but are not limited to:

  • Ulumul Qur’an (Qur’anic Sciences): Studies on the history, compilation, structure, and thematic dimensions of the Qur’an, as well as its linguistic, literary, and miraculous aspects.

  • Tafsir (Qur’anic Exegesis): Analytical and comparative studies of classical and contemporary exegetical works, methodological developments in Qur’anic interpretation, and the relationship between tafsir, theology, and hermeneutics.

  • Ilmu Tafsir (The Science of Interpretation): Theoretical and methodological inquiries into the principles, frameworks, and epistemologies that underpin the practice of Qur’anic interpretation across different schools of thought.
