Author Guidlines

As part of the process before submitting an article to the OJS Atikan: Journal of Islamic Education, authors are expected to check the completeness of the following sections. If the requirements are not met, the submission will be returned to the author.

  • The article meets the focus and scope criteria of the Islamic Journal of Education.
  • The submitted article has not been published in any media (journals, proceedings, or similar).
  • The article file must be in Microsoft Word format (doc, .docx).
  • If available, URLs of the references must be provided.
  • The text should be formatted with 1.15 line spacing, using garamon font, size 12 for body text, and size 16 for headings, with bold and italic formatting where applicable. Tables and figures must comply with the formatting guidelines for article submissions.
  • Plagiarism checks should be performed using software with a maximum plagiarism rate of 20%.
  • It is mandatory to use Mendeley and Zotero for organizing citations and references.

 

Submission Guidelines for Atikan: Journal of Islamic Education

Preparation

  • Visit the OJS Islamic Journal of Education website at the following link: Islamic Journal of Education.
  • Click the “Template Article” menu in the sidebar to download the article template.
  • Use this article template file to type your article document.
  • If you wish to modify your document to match the template, you can copy the document and paste it as unformatted text into the article template, so that your document will comply with the Islamic Journal of Education's formatting rules.
  • Articles that meet the layout and formatting requirements of the Islamic Journal of Education are advised to undergo plagiarism checking by the author to check for potential plagiarism. The management will also perform a plagiarism check.
  • If the plagiarism rate is within acceptable limits (maximum 20%), checked by the author, the article is ready to be submitted to OJS Islamic Journal of Education. First, visit the website and register for an account.

 

Registration

  • Visit the OJS Islamic Journal of Education website at the following link: Atikan: Journal of Islamic Education.
  • Select the “Registration” menu and fill in the profile data (identity and affiliation) and login information (email, username, and password).
  • After successfully registering, proceed with the new submission.

 

Submission

Follow these 5 steps for article submission: start, upload submission, enter metadata, confirmation, and next steps.

  • In the “start” section, select “article” from the “section” dropdown, check the 5 established criteria (if applicable), and click “save and continue.”
  • Upload the article in the “upload submission” section and add the cover letter file.
  • In the “enter metadata” section, fill in the abstract in the “abstract” field, then provide the author's details in the “list of contributors,” and click “save and continue.”
  • Then click “finish submission” in the confirmation section.
  • The final step is “submission complete.”

Communication via Website with Management

The author will be notified via OJS messages regarding the progress of their article until the publishing process is complete.
